"Attend A Class"

Our FREE patient classes offer an introduction to kidney disease and treatment options for people with chronic kidney disease.


Patient Orientation Program, aka "POP Class"

Program Info:

Classes are generally held on the first and second Wednesdays each month, at our Everett, Mountlake Terrace, and Smokey Point Centers.  Please review the class schedules below (or in the Brochure) for specific locations and times.

Patients, family, and friends may come any time during the series.

After coming to the patient classes, you will be able to work with your doctor and make treatment choices about your care.

Class Titles and Schedules:

  1. An Overview of Kidney Disease, Treatment Options, and Home Dialysis
    (presented by dialysis nurses)
    Time: 2.5 hrs
    This class explores normal kidney function and what happens when you have kidney disease. Treatment options such as home dialysis, in-center dialysis, and kidney transplants will be discussed. You will learn how to prepare for your treatment including options for dialysis access.

  2. Kidney Disease: Its Impact on You and Your Family and Your Nutrition Needs
    (presented by a dialysis social worker and dietitian)
    Time: 2.5 hrs
    This class will explore how patients and families adjust to kidney disease and dialysis. You will also learn about community resources, transportation, travel, and medical insurance plans for people with chronic kidney disease. The dietitian will discuss how the food you eat affects your kidneys and offer suggestions on how to work good nutrition into your lifestyle.
