Classes

Being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease can be overwhelming for you, your family and your friends. Knowing more about what to expect, what you can do now to slow the progression of kidney disease and what your treatment options are will help you feel better prepared.

Puget Sound Kidney Centers is happy to offer several classes to kidney patients and their friends and family. Watch the video to learn about Survive and Thrive, our course for people recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), stages 2-4. For people with CKD stages 4-5, who will soon start treatment, we offer Healthy Options. Following the video, learn more information about both programs, offered throughout the year.

Survive and Thrive
with CKD

Take charge of your health in a fun and interactive learning environment. This 6-week program is for people with CKD stages 2-4, their family and friends. In weekly classes you will learn about kidneys and what they do, how to promote kidney health with good nutrition and lifestyle changes, how to make a plan for your life and learn about treatment choices.

  • Cost: FREE
  • Classes in series:Six
  • Duration: 5 hours per class
  • Days: Mondays and Tuesdays in Everett, Mondays and Wednesdays in Arlington, and Wednesdays in Lynnwood.
  • Locations:

Healthy Options

This 2-week program is for people with CKD stages 4-5, who are preparing for dialysis or transplant. Family and friends are also welcome to sign up. In these classes you will learn about kidney disease and treatment options, dialysis access choices, healthy eating, living with kidney disease and how to choose a treatment that is right for you.

  • Cost: FREE
  • Classes in series: Two
  • Duration: 5 hours per class
  • Days: Thursday evenings at PSKC dialysis clinics in Everett, Mountlake Terrace and Smokey Point. Click here for addresses.
