Asian Slaw

A side with a crunch, this Asian slaw works well with just about any main dish.

What you need for the slaw:
 3 cups cabbage, finely shredded
 1 carrot, peeled and grated
 ½ cup grapes, halved
 1 green apple, grated
 Juice from 1 small lemon (or half of a large lemon)
What you need for the dressing:
  cup white wine vinegar
 1 tbsp orange juice
  cup canola or olive oil
 ½ tsp celery seed
 ¼ tsp black pepper
 1 tbsp honey
 ¼ cup (or more) fresh chives, finely chopped (parsley will do in a pinch)
To make the slaw:

Prepare vegetables and fruits for slaw, grating the apple last.


Sprinkle lemon juice over all ingredients to prevent browning.


In a large bowl, mix all vegetables and fruits together and set aside.


Mix all dressing ingredients together, pour over slaw, toss and refrigerate until ready to serve. Note: this dish can be prepared in advance and kept in the refrigerator until it’s time to serve it.
